25 | On 08/02/2022 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Doris Whitmore met with licensee, Giuliana Manuel, who guided analyst on a tour of the home for an Unannounced Inspection. Upon arrival LPA observed 11 children in care. This is a 1 story, 3bedroom, 2-bathroom home with kitchen, living room, laundry room (off kitchen) and detached garage. There is no pool, spa or other bodies of water on the premises. Family members residing in the home include licensee, spouse, and two school aged children. Days of operation are Monday – Friday 7:30a.m. to 5:00p.m.
Main care is provided in the family room of the home. Main care area was observed to have age-appropriate furniture, games, toys, napping equipment, changing table and activities. The home does have a fireplace that is barricaded. No hazards were observed in main care area. Children use the restroom located next to the bedrooms. Restroom was observed clean and free of hazards. All chemicals and detergents are in locked upper cabinet in kitchen. Off limit areas include the home's kitchen, and detached garage. Off limits areas are behind locked doors making rooms inaccessible to children in care. Licensees use bedrooms of the home for napping, pack and plays observed for napping. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. LPA observed access to backyard from the main care room. Children use the back of the home for outdoor play. LPA observed perimeter fencing for safety, age-appropriate toys, small climbing structure and activities for children in care. All plants, trees and shrubs are maintained neat and clean. Backyard has age-appropriate toys for children in care.
Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms of any kind in the facility at this time. The LPA did not observe any weapons. There are age-appropriate toys and napping equipment on the premises. Children nap in pack and plays and mats. There was a fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors are in operable condition. Licensee has posted as required documents in a hard plastic protector. LPA reviewed a total of 8 children files LPA shared consultation with the Licensee about the Blue Immunization Record, Immunization Records for Staff, Individual Infant Sleeping Plan (LIC 9227) &Preventative Health and Safety. LPA reviewed staff files and shared with licensee required documents in the file. LPA shared with the Licensee LIC911D. All staff have current Mandated Reporter Training Certificates and First Aid.
