25 | On 3/28/2023 at 3:10pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrea Pittman conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. The LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry by Staff 1. The Licensee Lorraine Vheru arrived shortly after and guided the LPA on a tour of the home. Upon entry to the facility, the LPA observe 12 children in care and three staff providing care and supervision (fingerprint cleared and associated to the center) and then the Licensee arrived later.
This is a single-story family home. There is a living room, classroom, kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, laundry area, infant room, and attached garage but not accessible from inside the home. Licensee provides children with cots, mats, cribs, and playpens for napping. The off-limits areas are the two bedrooms, master restroom, and garage. Licensee provides meals: breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, and evening snack as needed. The operational childcare hours are Monday through Sunday varied up to 23 hours depending on family's need. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. Hanging window blind cords: The cords are inaccessible to children. Napping equipment: LPA observed 9 mats, 10 cots, 2 cribs, and 1 play yard; additionally, there is individualized bedding for the mats/cots. There is adequate napping furniture for all children in care. The windows were found to be free of cracks, debris, and bugs. Pets: there are no pets on premises. Phone service: There is a working landline and cell phone, charged and kept on staff at all times. Transportation: The Licensee does provide transportation for children. The Licensee has a valid California driver's license expiring: 5/21/2026, valid vehicle insurance expiring: 8/4/2023, and vehicle registration expiring: 3/12/2024. The Licensee has insurance on the child care facility through Philadelphia Indemnity Insurance Company expiring 6/23/2023.
Knives are kept in the kitchen in a high cabinet, inaccessible to children in care. Medication is kept in the kitchen in a high cabinet, inaccessible to children in care. Cleaning supplies and chemicals are kept in the inaccessible garage and in the kitchen in a high cabinet, inaccessible from children in care. |
