25 | Licensing Program Analyst, V. Wheatley and conducted an Annual inspection and met with the licensee and director, L. Buckner at 1:30PM. LPA observed Mrs. Buckner in the infant room with the staff. As of now Mrs. Buckner is the lead teacher in the infant program. LPA inspected the facility and observed 14 infants napping and supervised by 5 adults/staff.
Furniture and equipment was inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. The telephone service, heating, lighting, and ventilation is adequate. The facility has central heating and air conditioning. There are cubbies for children's belongings. There is a first aid kit. LPA observed age appropriate toys, LPA observed an area for activity with a table. A separate area with rugs and has a sink is for activities and napping. There is a rear room for younger infants and two cribs. LPA observed cots for older infants. The cots were equipped with sheets and blankets. The electrical outlets are inaccessible. There is another area in the program that is not in use and off limits. This area on the westside of the room near the restroom. There is a separate area for isolation and care of ill children in the director's office.
LPA inspected the restrooms and diaper changing area. The diaper changing policy shall be posted. The sink is only used for diaper changing. The older toddlers are using the restroom for toilet training. The toilets and sinks are age appropriate and functioning properly. There is toilet paper, soap and paper towels in each restroom. The water temperature is appropriate. There is a daily report for each infant. |
