25 | On 6/7/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Loyce Phillips conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Rayshaun Chappell. LPA observed 1 child in care today. Licensee lives in the home alone. Days and hours of operation are 24 hours. Licensee was reminded that staff must remain awake when children are awake.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. This is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with living room, laundry area, 2 kitchens, dining room, and detached garage. Garage is for storage only, no child care activities were conducted in the garage.
The areas that are accessible to children: bathroom #1 located near living room, bedroom #1 (day care room ) both kitchens, laundry area, dining area and back yard. LPA observed age appropriate toys, learning materials and equipment indoors.
The areas that are off limits to children: living room, bedrooms #2, #3, bathroom #2 located in bedroom #3 and garage.
No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children.
There is a full charged fire extinguisher located in both kitchens. The facility has a working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector, inside the home. The facility has adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (310) 678-4394..
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Car seats are used for transportation purposes only and are not used for sleeping children. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 6/7/2023 verified on website. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on 3/24/2024. A review of records indicates that Licensee have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles.
