25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA's) Justin Dorsey and Kris Diaz, met with Licensee, Deborah Fabery, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility for the One Year Required Inspection. There is two components to this home, the main home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room and dining room. The second part of the home is an attached guest house, this is where child care takes place. The mother-in law quarters consists of a family room (main care area), kitchen, dining area/office and 1 bathroom. There is no pool on the premises. Upon arrival LPA's observed 4 children with the licensee.
Physical Plant: Main care is provided in the family room. Children use the bathroom near the kitchen. Children have access to the family room, children's bathroom, dining area/office and backyard. Off limit areas include the kitchen and the entire main home excluding the living room (used for infant napping as necessary). The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds (locked under the sink), medicines and hazardous items (sharp knives inaccessible on top of kitchen counter) that can pose a danger to children. Per licensee at this time there are no children with medications, per licensee children medications are stored inaccessible to children children upper cubbies. Fireplace is screened. The home has safe and age appropriate toys, play equipment and materials. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, and Fire Extinguisher (2A10BC) are in operable condition. Per Licensee no one smokes in the home. Electrical outlets are inaccessible, no baby bouncers saucer chairs, or any recalled and or prohibited toys or sleep/ play equipment were observed on the premises. There is a designated area for ill children as necessary in living room or dining area/office. Per Licensee there are no weapon/firearms in the home.
Per licensee she has not conducted a fire/earthquake drill since the pandemic due to the ages of the children. LPA reminded licensee that disaster drill must be completed and logged (date and time) every 6 months no matter the ages of the children in care. Roster complete and maintained current. |
