32 | According to the Co Reporting party - it wasn't in attempt to push C1 to the floor, but C1 is very small, so any touch can tip C1 over, so C1 fell back; however, neither teacher assisted C1. According to Staff 1 (S1) ,Staff 2 (S2) and Staff 3 (S3), children have never been pushed while in care. According to the director, children have never been pushed/hurt by any adults at the Child Care Center (CCC). According to 5 Parents, they have no concerns regarding the care their children are receiving.
-Pertaining to the allegation that - Staff yelled at daycare child.
According to the RP; a teacher was talking to C1 with their hands through video footage without sound; however, RP couldn't hear if teacher yelled at C1. It was indicated that the reporting party was yelling at children because of the use of hand gestures. According to the CRP, does not have any concerns regarding teachers yelling. According to the director, their discipline policy includes modeling, consequences but giving positive reinforcement to promote in the right way. All children are different, so it is all about modeling, talking to the children and having conversations, time to think of the solution. According to S1, S2, S3 all stated that when it comes to discipline, they refrain from yelling and utilize communication and redirection. According to 5 Parents, they have no concerns regarding the care their children are receiving.
-Pertaining to the allegation that - Staff does not allow daycare child to finish food. According to the RP- C1 is a good eater and gets home very hungry and with clean clothes and doesn't need to eat with spoon when C1 usually makes a mess when eating. Teacher admit that C1 was being spoon fed; however, teacher further stated that when C1 refused and would not touch the food teacher would stop feeding C1. According to the CRP- there was talk about teachers taking food away from the children. According to the director, every child is different, the CCC encourages children to utilize utensils and progress was observed with child being able to hold a spoon and stop throwing things. S1, S3 stated that they assist the children while eating. According to 5 parents, they have no concerns regarding their children eating at the CCC.
Based on the evidence as documented above, the allegations have been determined to be Unsubstantiated. A finding that the complaint is unsubstantiated means that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the allegation occurred.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director, ILANIT, MEIR. |
