25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Isabel Ortega conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. The LPA met with licensee Norma L. Rosales who guided the LPA on a tour of the facility at 11:05 a.m. Also present today is Licensee’s two Assistants(fingerprint cleared). Upon entry to the facility the LPA observed five children in care.
This is a one story family home with a detached duplex separate entrance observed. There is a children's playroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, three bedrooms and one restroom. Main care is provided in the children's playroom/living room. The children use the bathroom located to the left of the living room. The off-limits areas are the two bedrooms, and the detach duplex home located in the back with a separate entrance.
The day care home provides breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner as needed. The operating child care hours are Monday- Saturday varied depending on family's need. Children eat near the dining room on an age size appropriate table with chairs.
Per licensee, transportation for school age children is provided, drivers license is current and auto insurance is valid (verified by LPA).
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. The knives are kept in the kitchen on the top cabinet inaccessible to children in care. All cleaning chemicals are stored on a side cabinet in the kitchen and maintained locked with a child safety latch. Medication is stored on the top right kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children.
There are age appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. Per the licensee there are no weapons or firearms of any kind in the facility. The LPA did not observe any weapons.
