25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Peter Flores and Claudia Escobedo conducted an unannounced annual random inspection to ensure the health & safety standards as required by regulations governing family child care homes are being met. Upon arrival, LPAs met with licensee Eloise Artadi. LPAs informed licensee of nature of the visit and was guided on a tour (inside and outside) of the home. LPAs confirmed with licensee that all adults residing/working in the home have criminal record/TB clearances.
The facility is a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom, family room, kitchen and dining area, detached garage and front yard. The accessible areas for child care are: family room, dining area, bedroom #1 used for napping and back yard. The off limits areas are: detached garage that is used for storage and front yard.
At 12:50 PM, LPAs observed the required fire extinguisher 2A10BC, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, age appropriate toys, napping equipment, changing table, first aid kit in the kitchen with emergency supplies. LPAs did not observe sharp objects, toxins and hazardous materials accessible to children in the kitchen and bathroom. LPAs has current CPR/Pediatric certification valid through 11/2019. Licensee states there are no weapons in the home and none observed by the LPAs. There is telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated and in good condition. There are NO bodies of water in the premises.
Licensee states currently does not have any children in care at this time that require Incidental Medical Services (IMS).There was 10 children in care (2 whom are infants) at the time of inspection with the licensee, and her assistant. At 1:10 PM, LPAs reviewed children's files and observed the licensee is operating within capacity limits.
