25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jacky San met with Licensee, Kimberly Ross today on 02/07/2020 for the purpose of conducting an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA toured and inspected all areas according to the facility sketch. This is 1 story home 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom with kitchen/dining, living room, formal dining room, laundry room, family room, office and garage. The garage is used for storage only and no child care activities are conducted there. There is an in-ground pool and spa on the premises. Family members residing in the home include 3 adults (licensee, spouse, adult daughter) and no children. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed.
Main care is provided in the family room. Children use the bathroom located in the hallway. Children have access to the backyard. Off limit areas include the home Bedroom #1 (key lock), bathroom #2, office, laundry (safety gate) and the garage. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents/cleaning compounds (laundry room), medicines (master bathroom) and hazardous items (sharp knives on top of kitchen cabinet) that can pose a danger to children. Facility roster complete and maintained current. Earthquake/fire drills are current.
Backyard is completely fenced. In addition, children play in the backyard. There is a yard on both sides of the pool for children to play. There is a grass and concrete area for active play. There is a swing that is anchored. There are 3 dogs that stay in the office and outside on the patio area. The pool is completely fenced (wrought iron), the fence and gate are 5 feet, spacing between bars are 4 inches, bottom of fencing is 2 inches. The gate is self closing and self latching. There is another gate from the patio that rolls and is locked
Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms on the premise. LPA did not observe any in the home. There are age appropriate toys. Age appropriate napping equipment cots. The required Fire Extinguisher (2A10BC), Smoke Detector and Carbon Monoxide Detector are in operable condition. Fireplace is screened (Family Room). Home has central AC and heat. CPR/First Aid expire 09/02/2021. The First Aid kit was observed and is complete. Licensee has posted as required the License, Emergency Disaster plan and Parents Rights Poster.
