On 3/1/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Loyce Phillips, conducted a case management inspection to follow up on COVID-19 Positive Cases. LPA met with Principal, Sandy Chen explained the reason for visit, toured the facility and took a census. Upon arrival, there were 110 children and 33 staff present today at the facility. LPA toured 7 classrooms, outdoor play area and main office area.

LPA observed the front entry area displaying COVID-19 signs/posters, portable parent board with required postings, thermometer, hand sanitizer, mask, gloves and wipes. Each classroom had a sanitation area, which included a hand sanitizer dispenser, face mask, wipes and gloves. All the restrooms were functioning properly, fully stocked with soap, tissue and paper towels. Each child have a cubby for their personal belongings. Materials and equipment are not shared. The children bring their personal water bottles and the facility provides water as needed.

During the visit LPA and Sandy Chen discussed the following best practices:

Arrival Procedures - Children and staff must complete their daily pass prior to entering the facility. Temperature checks and wellness checks are conducted every morning. The daily pass consists of answering a daily health check questionnaire.

Face Mask - All children and staff are required to wear a face mask daily while indoors. Face mask are no longer require outdoors. LPA observed staff and children indoors, wearing their face mask.

Cleaning and Disinfecting - The outdoor play area and classrooms are clean daily. The toys and supplies are spray daily with disinfectant spray and cleaned and washed weekly. All high touched surface areas are cleaned throughout the day. The facility has a laundry service that brings cleaned linen weekly. When choosing cleaning products, use products approved by Environmental Protection Agency list. Products and supplies are ordered from LAUSD.

PPE - The facility has a sufficient supply of surgical and N95 mask, gloves, hand sanitizer, wipes, face shields, gowns and thermometers.

Isolation area - The isolation room is adjacent to the main office. A designated staff will stay with the child until the parent arrives. The isolation restroom is located inside the isolation room designated for children with symptoms.

Reporting Requirements – LPA explained and reminded Sandy Chen to report all COVID-19 positives cases to Department of Public Health. In addition, report all positives cases and closures to CCLD. When reporting Unusual Incidents, call CCLD within 24 hours and submit Unusual Incident Report within 7 days.

LPA provided the number to DPH 877-777-5799 and the Guidance for Child Care Providers and Programs updated February 18, 2022.

No deficiencies are being cited in accordance to Title22 of the California Code of Regulations and/or Health & Safety Codes.

An exit interview was conducted, a copy of this report and notice of site visit were provided to Sandy Chen.
