25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Mireya Garcia and Jose Guzman conducted an unannounced annual random inspection to the above facility. LPAs met with Samantha Silva, Head Teacher, who guided analysts on a tour of the facility. Principal Holguin was not available during this inspection. However, later arrived during this visit. This is an infant/toddler program which is operated by LAUSD and operates under California Code of Regulations, Title 5. The program consists of 2 classrooms; Room One, which is an infant class and Room Two, which is a toddler class. This program is located on the campus of Ramona High School and runs from 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM. All areas were identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. The following staff were observed during this visit: Room One (infants): Staff #1, #2 and #3 with 4 infants; Room Two (toddlers): Staff #4 with 4 toddlers. The following was observed during the tour of facility:
PHYSICAL PLANT
Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. Head Teacher Samantha Silva states that there are no poisons stored at the facility. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All toilets and hand washing facilities are safe, sanitary and are operating properly. All floors are clean and safe.
All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. Drinking water is readily available both indoors and outdoors. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects and rodents.
