25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA's) Justin Dorsey and Andrew Alemoh met with Licensee, Melanie Horning, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility for the One Year Required Inspection. This is a single story 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with kitchen, living room, dining room, shed/barn, laundry room, activity room (child care) and garage. There is no pool on the premises. Upon arrival LPA's observed 13 children present with the licensee and assistant #1.
Physical Plant: Main care is provided in the activity room (addition to right side of house, with permit). The laundry area room (washer/dryer, next to the child care room) used for storage. Children use the bathroom located in the activity room. here is a hallway door which keep children out of the kitchen area and other rooms of the home. Children have access to the gated portion of the backyard. Off limit areas include the home's 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living and dining rooms, a portion of the backyard area, barn and the garage. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds (upper cabinet in laundry area), medicines (located in the off limit areas inside home), and hazardous items (sharp knives inaccessible homes kitchen) that can pose a danger to children. Facility roster complete and maintained current. Fire/earthquake drills are current. Parents provide snack and lunch.
The home has safe and age appropriate toys, play equipment and materials. The smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, and Fire Extinguisher (2A10BC) are in operable condition. Per Licensee no one smokes in the home. Electrical outlets are inaccessible, no baby bouncers saucer chairs, or any recalled and or prohibited toys or sleep/ play equipment were observed on the premises. There is a designated area for ill children as necessary outdoors. Per licensee isolated children are always supervised.. Per Licensee there are currently no weapon/firearms in the home.
