25 | On 8/9/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lillian Casillas conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for the preschool license. LPA met with Administrator, Cecelie Wizenfeld, and toured the indoor and outdoor of the facility. LPA observed 0 children in care and 4 staff. Preschool is closed during the summer and will reopen in the Fall.
LPA observed 3 classrooms and 1 outdoor play area. Classroom 1 (Cubs) is for the 2 year olds. LPA observed 1 children's bathroom with 1 toilet and 1 sink. In classroom 2 (Ducks) for the 3 year olds, LPA observed a large space equipped with children's desks and another children's bathroom with 1 toilet and 1 sink. In classroom 3 (Pandas) for 4-5 year olds, LPA observed 2 children's bathrooms with 1 toilet and 1 sink in each. LPA observed functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in each classroom. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition.
In the outdoor play area, which is located directly in front of the classrooms in a courtyard setting, LPA observed equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. The outdoor play area includes a children's bathroom as well.
Kitchen is currently not in use. Administrator stated facility provides a morning and afternoon snack. Children bring their own lunch and eat inside the classrooms. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents.
LPA observed 3 2A10:BC fire extinguishers in the outdoor play area, classroom 2, and in the kitchen.
