25 | On March 7, 2025, @ 1:15 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Devon Carus, conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection and was met by licensee, Maki Takei. Currently, the above daycare has 12 children enrolled. LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. At the time of the visit, there were 12 children present. Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen is off limits and made inaccessible via child safety locks. This One-story home was inspected as follows: Day care play room/living room, and one bathroom. All poisons are kept in the laundry room in a locked cabinet which is inaccessible to children in care. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. Medication is kept in a first aid kit behind a child safety gate in the living room. There is a working fire extinguisher (2A-10BC), smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. LPA confirmed the available cell phone number is 3105300011. The indoor play area is in the day care play room/ living room. The children reside here while in care. There are child locks on doors to keep the children in the daycare area. There are mats, and cribs for day care children to sleep or rest on. The Daycare is open from 9:00am-5:00pm Mo-Fri. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. LPA observed no bodies of water on the premises. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on 1/26/2026. A review of records indicates that all employees and/or volunteers have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis, measles, and Tuberculosis.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
