32 | water filtration system. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, area safety and sanitation. LPA observed shared bathroom available for both classrooms located in between that had two toilets and two sinks.
A first aid kit is kept in bathroom in between the classrooms and one observed in outdoor play area. LPA observed carbon monoxide detectors present but due to placement on high ceiling was not able to test at time of inspection. LPA observed smoke detectors and fire extinguishers present in the facility. Disaster drill log was available and last drill conducted on 04/16/2024. Sick/isolation area is in Director's office. Hazardous items including poisonous cleaning compounds were stored inaccessible to children. Per Director, there are no children enrolled requiring medications at this time.
LPA discussed requirement to post snack menus one week in advance. Food and snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity and appropriateness to children in care. LPA observed children eating snack on outdoor tables during inspection. Food preparation areas were toured for safety, cleanliness and proper equipment. Facility provides AM Snack and PM Snack to TK program which is provided by the parents and children bring in their own lunches which is stored in their backpacks.
At 8:50 AM, outdoor equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age-appropriateness. Required shade and fencing were inspected. LPA observed surface of outdoor place space to be sand, turf, and planks that are all well maintained for activities planned. LPA observed a variety of age appropriate toys such as large wooden building blocks, large soft blocks, and shovels and sand equipment available for children well maintained. LPA advised that the children need to be within the direct care and supervision, including visual supervision of the teacher(s) at all times. LPA discussed sanitation procedures of sand area, and FR states that sand is cleaned and raked three times a week. The children have access to their water bottles during outside play. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water; no bodies of water or hazards observed. LPA observed an Art Room accessible through outdoor play area that had a variety of art supplies and child size tables and chairs maintained.
Teacher-child ratios were observed and staff names recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met and appropriate. Sign-in and out sheets and procedures were reviewed. Personal Rights of children were observed by LPA.Report Continues - Page 2 of 4 |
