25 | On 07/09/2021, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Lillian Casillas and Silva Garibyan conducted an announced Annual Required Inspection and an Increase In Capacity for a Large Family Child Care Home. The fire clearance was approved by LA City Fire Prevention Bureau on 7/6/2021. LPAs were met by Licensee, Elsa Arias. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:00am-5:00pm.
LPAs toured the home inside and outside, there were no children present at the time of the visit. Current facility sketch reviewed and Licensee confirmed that the living room (day care room), study room, infant bedroom, and two bathrooms in the hallway are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of child safety gates. Swimming pool is fenced per regulation. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible as they are stored in the off-limits area.
The fireplace located in the living room is made inaccessible by a screen and cubbies. Licensee confirmed the fireplace will not be in use during day care hours. There is a working fire extinguisher stored in the kitchen pantry, smoke detectors in every room of the home, carbon monoxide detector in the kitchen and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
