On 06/28/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alemoh met with the facility Program Director, Anais Femat, for the purpose of conducting a Random Annual Inspection. A tour of the facility was conducted. Upon arrival LPA observed two classrooms with a total of 34 school age children and 3 staff along with Director on site. The center operates from 6:00AM - 6:00PM Monday through Friday. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed.

The facility utilizes 2 classrooms: TK/2nd Rm and 3rd/6th Rm. There are no bodies of water on the premies.

Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. All the classrooms are clean and safe. Telephone service was verified. Heating, lighting, and ventilation are adequate. There are two classrooms, both classrooms resemble the same layout. In each classroom there are cubbies for children's belongings, cleaning solutions located in the top locked cabinet above the classroom sink making them inaccessible to the children. There are storage cabinets in each classrooms that contain extra classrooms supplies such as: arts and crafts, toys, and books. LPA observed age appropriate toys and materials. Along with a supply of cots for the children that would like to sleep.

Drinking water is available inside the classrooms in the form of water dispenser/ pitcher and disposable cups. There is a fire extinguisher(reading in the green zone at 11:00am), smoke detector and a carbon monoxide detector on the premises and in operable condition. There is a First Aid bag located in each classroom closet as well as in the main office.

LPA inspected and observed two clean bathrooms with designated stalls for girls and boys (one stall each) and two sinks. One bathroom for girls (2 toilets and 2 sinks) and one for boys (2 toilet, and 2 sink). Toilets and sinks are functioning properly and are age appropriate. LPA observed soap, toilet paper and paper towels readily available. Additional sinks are located in each of the classrooms, each sink has a water fountain attached along with paper towels, and soap for hand washing.

Wellness Policy: Children are inspected for illnesses as they arrive. There are children in care that have incidental medical needs. There is a separate area for isolation for ill children in the office area. School age children do not sleep in the facility .

Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. The play area has sand and concrete. The area was observed to be free of debris. There is an area underneath the trees for shade and rest. Water pitcher and disposable cups are brought outside during outside playtime. Play area was inspected and found to be free of hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. Swings, climbing apparatus and large jungle gym are anchored.

There are cameras positioned all the around the property as well as the classrooms. There is a gate on the far end of the play yard area that was observed to be locked. No animals or pets on the premise.

There is a clean fully equipped kitchen (off limits) with refrigerator/freezer, stove, sink and microwave oven. The facility provides two snacks. Parents bring lunch for their children. Allergy lists are posted in the kitchen area. LPA observed an appropriate amount of snacks. The chemicals/cleaning solutions are kept separate from the food and underneath the kitchen sink.

Sign in and out sheets were reviewed. The parent board was reviewed and has all of the required forms posted. Snack Menu is posted. Fire/earthquake was conducted on 04/01/2024. Roster current.

Teacher child ratios were observed and staff name recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met and appropriate.
Children's records and staff records were reviewed. Staff are certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid expires on 08/2025. Mandated Reporter expires on 12/26/2025.

Facility has five child with Incidental Medical needs. Medicine was stored properly. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Unusual Incident reporting requirements were discussed, call within 24 hours and submit the form, LIC 624B, within 7 days.

Technical Assistance will be issued today due to a staff member mandated reporter training expired. Staff member will complete the training and send a copy of the certificate to LPA.
