Outdoor Play measurements are:
Outdoor areas measured for outdoor play area are black top, sand/gravel yard with swings and climber, and grass area next to sand/gravel yard.
Outdoor total measurements: 15,097.66 sq ft divided by 75 sq ft = 201 children.
Indoor/Children’s Area:
All outdoor and indoor passageways, stairways, inclines, ramps, open porches and other areas of potential hazard were observed to be free of obstruction. The child care center was observed be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. Floors of all rooms have a surface that is safe and clean. A comfortable temperature for children was observed. Furniture and equipment were observed to be maintained in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Tables and chairs were observed to be meet the needs of the children. All play equipment and materials used by children were observed to be age-appropriate. LPA observed individual permanent storage space for clothing, personal belongings and/or bedding. All materials and surfaces accessible to children, including toys, were observed to be free of toxic substances.
Per Director the children bring water bottles from home and the facility provides water refills with the use of water cooler located in Room G and use of the water fountains.
LPA advised per Health and Safety Code 1597.16(a)(1) Lead Testing and PIN-21-21-CCP Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010 to test their drinking water for lead contamination between January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first test. LPA Lowe provided Director with PIN 21-21-CCP “Release of The Written Directives for Lead Testing of Water in Licensed Child Care Centers Per AB 2370”.
Director provided LPA with Lead testing results completed on 05/18/2018. LPA advised Lead testing shall be every five years and facility will be due to test again before May 2023.
Per Director the facility has a pest control service to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents. All trash containers used for storage of solid wastes were observed to have a tightfitting cover. No Fireplaces or open-faced heaters were observed at facility. All window screens were observed to be in good repair and free of insects, dirt and debris.
