25 | On 4/30/2021 at 1:30 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Angelica Ramirez met with licensee Lydia Yannakis via FaceTime due to COVID-19 for the purpose of a case management - licensee initiated. On 12/12/2019 Ms. Yannakis requested Preschool Classroom A be converted into an infant classroom, which was granted by LPA Ramirez on 1/22/2020. Today Ms. Yannakis is requesting Classroom A be returned to a preschool classroom. Ms. Yannakis is requesting a decrease in capacity of the infant license (197419144) and an increase to the preschool license (197419155), both housed on the same address referenced on this report. The current capacity for the infant license is 32 and 40 for the preschool license. The licensee is requesting a new capacity of 24 for infants and 51 for preschool.
Upon arrival, LPA Ramirez observed 34 (napping) preschoolers and 15 infants with seven staff members. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Per Ms. Yannakis, Classroom A currently provides care to infants (age six weeks to 12 months). If approved, Classroom A will now provide care for preschool age children (two year olds), on license # 197419155 (housed on the same property).
LPA observed age appropriate furniture and toys for indoor active play which include appropriate height tables, chairs, cots, and a carpeted area.
Measurements for Classroom A are used from the inspection conducted on 12/12/2019 due to no structural changes made to the classroom.
1. Indoor space: Classroom A: 400 sq. ft./ 35 allows for 11 children
2. Outdoor space: Play yard B (Outdoor Grass Play Area): 1,852 sq. ft. = allows 24 children
3. LPA inspected one restroom in classroom A and found it to be operable with one toilet and one sink.
