On 12/15/2021 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Judy Laureano conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met with Licensee Deborah Pruitt. Also present were Staff #1 and Staff #2.

Days and hours of operation are 24 hours a day, Monday through Sunday, making licensee available for overnight care.

LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA observed 4 children and two staff members in day care room. Current facility sketch reviewed and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen, hallway, bathroom 2, bedroom 1-3 are OFF LIMITS to the children in care. Day care provides child care services in the living room, dining room/day care room and small room next to the kitchen. Bathroom that children use was observed outside the kitchen. LPA advised licensee to add a safety gate to the hallway to ensure children do not access the OFF-LIMITS area.

There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.

There are 2 working fire extinguisher, 2 smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. LPA advised licensee to service the additional fire extinguisher located in the hallway. There are no stairs in this home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed.
The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is

310-806-1963.

LPA did observed one infants in care that just started day care 12/14/2021. LPA discussed Safe Sleep Regulations with licensee and assistant. LPA emailed Safe Sleep Regulations to licensee prior to visit. There is a play yard for each infant in care, play yards are kept free from all loose articles and objects while infants are sleeping, and there are no objects hanging above or attached to the crib or play yard. Infants are not swaddled while in care.

Infants can be visually observed through an open door if sleeping in a separate room. Individual Infant Sleeping Plan is completed and in file for each infant up to 12 months of age. Infants up to 12 months of age are placed on their backs for sleeping.

Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. Car seats are used for transportation purposes only and are not used for sleeping children. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. LPA advised licensee to remove clutter (chidlren's desk) from the back yard. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.

LPA advised licensee to update some of the necessary forms, some forms did not have the correct CCL Office information. Mandated Reporter Training was observed to be expired and will be completed by the end of December 2021. Licensee will email proof of completions to LPA.
