25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lady King-Lewis conducted an unannounced Annual Required site inspection. The LPA met with facility director Angie Bustamante who guided the analyst on a tour of the facility.
The operating hours of the infant center are Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. There are two classroom for the infant care license.
The inside and outside of the facility were inspected. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children were inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and in good repair. Waste containers had tight fitting covers. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. The LPA observed individual cubbies with children’s names. The facility uses the center director's office to isolate sick children. The LPA observed the required cribs and napping cots for older infants. The facility was in compliance with the staff-infant ratios. LPA observed 19 infants and 6 staff.
The LPA observed a changing mats that were at least 1 inch thick, padding covered with washable vinyl or plastic. The sides of the changing mats are raised to a minimum of three inches. The changing mats are within arm’s reach of a sink when in use.
The center provides food and allows parents to bring food as well. Food is properly stored and labeled. The LPA observed a posted menu.
