25 | On February 27, 2020 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Reiko Jones-Modeste conducted an unannounced Annual Random REQUIRED inspection at the facility listed above. LPA met with Licensee Carolyn Sanford for a guided tour of the facility. Upon arrival at 10:10am LPA observed the Licensee with one infant, two toddlers and three preschooler children present in the toddler classroom. Licensee understands she is operating out of the scope of the License with an infant in care. A Licensee Assistant was observed on the preschool playground leaning equipment. LPA observed a facility roster. Licensee stated hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:30am-6pm.
LPA toured the facility according to the sketch on file. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were observed. The following required postings were observed in the preschool classroom: Emergency Disaster Plan, Menus, Disaster Drill log and Parents Rights.
In the middle toddler classroom children were observed playing and eating snacks while Licensee performed rounds of toileting. Toys and equipment were in good repair. Toddler restroom located opposite the toddler classroom observed safe and sanitary. Front toddler classroom observed with appropriate toys and equipment. Availability of indoor drinking water was not observed
Next door to toddler restroom LPA observed the kitchen with detergents and knives inaccessible.
LPA observed the front toddler classroom not in use with with appropriate toys and equipment as well as the required postings including the Disaster Drill log.
In the rear preschool classroom upon arrival LPA noticed a remarkable odor of urine. |
