Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Alicia Mooberry conducted a Plan of Correction (POC) inspection on this date. Upon arrival at 10:00am LPA met with Megan Schrader, Staff. There was one (1) child present in care. Carolyn Sanford, Director arrived at 11:18am. The purpose of this inspection was to ensure the facility has corrected the deficiencies cited on 05/03/2023.
LPA observed the following:
  • The staff present has obtained the required background clearance and has been associated to the facility.
  • The outdoor play are was safe with shade and adequate equipment.

Based on LPA records review and observations and interview with the Licensee Carolyn Sanford, the Required Lead Testing has not been conducted, LPA observed that there is filtered drinking water and dispenser for children's use. LPA observed that there is a sink in the kitchen that is accessible for food preparation and the refrigerator has a water dispenser with filtered water, there is a potential risk to the health of children in care. This is a repeat violation, a $250 civil penalty is assessed. The licensee was reminded that the deficiency needs to be corrected to protect the health and safety of children in care.

The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit made by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.

Per licensee, she will ensure that children only drink filtered water. Licensee states, they do not have the financial means to get the water tested for lead. Licensee states she will appeal the deficiency.
