25 | On 6/2/2022 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Suzette Ornelas, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for the preschool license. LPA met with Director, Gail Shipp, and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7am to 6pm.
LPA observed 2 preschool buildings that were observed to be clean, safe, and in good condition. The preschool building has 2 preschool classrooms one that is currently in use, which is the Red Room and one that has not been in use since 01/2020, which is the Orange Room. The Pre-K building has two classrooms in one open space, the Yellow and Blue Rooms as well as a Green Room which is not currently being used. There are 2 designated preschool play yards. One is located next to preschool room and is labeled the Preschool Fenced Yard, Play Areas, and Bike Area. The second play yard is the Fenced Rubber Box located near Hayvenhurst Street. Elementary and Middle school Programs are also located on the campus.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. Per director wading pools are used approximately once a week for activity purposes and Teacher responsible is familiar with the PIN regarding pool safety. Wading pools are emptied out after each use. LPA observed the wading pools flipped upside down without any water. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed during the inspection.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. All kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Per Director, COVID protocol notices sent out to parents stated that, parents are responsible for student lunches/snacks until further notice. LPA
