On 05/05/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrew Alemoh conducted an unannounced annual random inspection at the above facility. LPA met with Director, Sheri Potter. LPA inspected and toured the preschool facility in accordance to the facility sketch. During the time of this visit LPA observed 74 children in care with 13 staff members providing care and supervision. The facility operates from 6:00 am to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

LPA observed 5 classrooms: Room B is for the 18 months-2yr old, Room 101 is for the 3yr, Room 103 is for 3yr, Room 5 and 7 are for 4yr olds. Safe Sleep Logs were observed.

Room B has 16 children w/ 4 staff (3 toddlers),Room 101 has 15 children with two teachers. Room 103 has 13 children with two teachers, Room 105 has 15 children with two teachers, and Room 107 has 15 children with two teachers.

Per, the Director, there are no firearms or weapons on the premises. LPA did not observed bodies of water on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children were observed and made inaccessible to children. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions and poisons were found to be inaccessible to children. Each classroom has disinfectants stored in the upper cabinet making it unreachable and inaccessible to children.

In the classrooms LPA observed furniture and equipment that was age appropriate and in good repair. There are age appropriate toys, games, and cubbies in which children can store their belongings. Educational/learning material was posted on the walls. Children bring there own water bottles to the facility. Purified water pitchers located in each classroom were observed with water readily available to children. Sinks were observed in each classroom along with soap and paper towels.

Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and are in good repair. The classrooms inspected is clean and safe. Telephone service was verified and operational. Heating, lighting, and ventilation are adequate. LPA inspected the classrooms, LPA observed that there are cubbies for which the children can keep their belongings. The cubbies were labeled with each child's name. LPA observed age appropriate toys, art supplies in which the child can play with. Uncontaminated drinking water is readily available to children inside the classroom through water pitcher. This facility utilizes a water pitcher for outside in which the children play; drinking water available.

Children utilize the restrooms between the classroom, 101 and 103 share a bathroom located between the classrooms, and Room's 105/ 107 share a bathroom located between each classroom. LPA inspected the bathroom to have 1 toilet and 1 sink. Soap dispenser was full and operational. There are also paper towels for children to dry their hands. LPA did not observe any prohibited items in the children's bathrooms.

There are no kitchen. Food is brought from the main campus of the Desert Christian School. Once food has arrived it is served to the daycare children. The facility provides snacks in the morning and the afternoon. Dry snacks are located in each classroom in the top cabinet. This facility has ensured and establish measures to keep the facility free of flies and other insects or rodents. Trash cans/storage containers were observed to have tight-fitting covers for solid waste.

There is an operating telephone in each classroom. LPA observed 4 fully charged and operational 2A10BC fire extinguisher located in the hallway between classrooms. Every classroom has a pull down fire alarm located near the exit doors. Children nap on mats. Napping equipment was inspected and was observed to be in good, sanitary condition. Children bring their own sheet and the sheets are washed daily or as needed for children. Parents take home children sheets every friday, and bring them back on Monday.

There are two play yards. Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. LPA observed a play structure with slides. The play structure was securely anchored to the ground underneath the play structure, LPA observed rubber foam matting material for cushioning, as well as turf grass. The area in which the play structure/apparatus was observed was free and clear of debris. There are security cameras in both play yards. Per directors the cameras are connected to her phone, director computer, all classrooms and the hallway.

Documents Provided and or Discussed: Safe Sleep PIN 20-24-CCP and Individual Sleeping Plan (LIC9227).

Children are inspected for illnesses as they arrive. A review of medication policy indicated that only prescription medication is administered with parent's written consent or permission. The staff and or designated teachers administer the medication. The director ensures that the medication is stored properly and is up to date and has not expired. There are no medications on the premises. There is a separate area for isolation and care of ill children in the director's office.



Per director this facility currently does not have any Incidental Medical Services – IMS.

The teacher’s and children ratios were observed and staff names recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated and it was determine that the basic needs of the children are being met and appropriate. Sign in and out sheets were reviewed. The parent board was reviewed and all of the required licensing forms were posted. Fire/earthquake drills current(4/11/23). Fire/Disaster drills are conducted at lease every month. Children's records and staff records were reviewed, and the records were complete. LPA verified at least one staff person present that has a current Pediatric CPR and First Aid training
