25 | On July 13, 2021 8:32AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brigitte Tsutaoka conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of inspection and was granted entry by Director Ana Garcia. This is a combination center that also has a preschool (197492944) and school-aged component (197492945). The center’s hours of operation are 5:00AM to 12:00AM, Monday through Sunday. Infants are located in the rear of the center physically separate from the other components. Upon arrival LPA counted 4 infants and 2 staff. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed.
Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair high chairs and feeding tables have broad based legs, chair trays lift and lock, high chairs are washable, changing table padding thickness in regulation and is within arm's length of the sink. Potty training is done for infants starting at 18 months. LPA observed staff during snack, diaper change and free play time. Bedding is washed weekly and returned to their cubby. The bedding is stored separately and properly inside the cubbies. There is a Infant Daily Report that identifies infant feeding schedule, diaper changes, and napping schedule. Used diapers are put in trash container with lid. Each child has container labeled with their name with personal items. Infant room is clean and safe. During inspection, LPA observed 2 baby swings in the infant sleep room not in use. During file review, LPA determined the facility does not have an Infant Sleep Plan (LIC9227) completed for each infant. Director stated the teachers physically monitor the infants during nap time every 15 minutes, but do not document. During inspection, Director created a sleep plan checklist to document infant sleep patterns.
Telephone service was verified (cordless and intercom system). Heating, lighting, and ventilation are adequate. There are cubbies for children's belongings in the infant room labeled with their names. LPA observed age appropriate toys and materials. Drinking water is available inside the classroom and provided using sippy cups and bottles. |
