32 | LPA observed the restrooms to be located in the classrooms. LPA Rivera observed the restrooms to be in good condition with working toilets, sinks, hand soap dispenser and paper towels. LPA observed a total of 5 toilets and 3 hand washing sinks.
Heating, lighting, and ventilation were evaluated by LPA Rivera. LPA observed central AC /heater and vents located on the ceiling. LPA observed the thermostat located in classroom and the temperature to be at 70. LPA observed the required 2A10BC fire extinguisher located in the hallways with the valve on the green area indicating fully charged and serviced on 11/30/2023. Smoke detectors. we’re not tested during this visit due to the detectors being wired to the emergency pull down fire alarm system. The carbon monoxide detector is in the staff lounge and director tested and heard the sound and is operable. The last emergency drill was conducted on 6/25/24.
LPA observed sleeping mats to be in good condition. First aid kits supplies are kept inside the classrooms and LPA observed the kits to be fully equipped with band aids, gauzes, adhesive bandages, and antiseptic wipes. During this visit, director Claudia stated currently has with severe food allergies and has children with medication. LPA observed medication stored in its original containers. LPA observed, Child #1 EPI PEN with expiration date 11/2024, child #2 EPI PEN expires 11/2024, Child #3 Albuterol expires 4/2025, Child #4 EPI PEN expires 10/2024 and Claritin 10/2024 and Child #5 EPI PEN expires 4/30/2025.
LPA Rivera asked if there were any poisons, firearms, weapons, or bodies of water. The director stated no firearms, weapons, no poisons nor bodies of waters. LPA did not observe firearms or weapons, poisons, nor bodies of water. Director stated, during this summer children have water play and LPA observed two wading pools Director stated the ill isolation area takes place in the director’s office and children utilize the staff restroom. Lead testing was conducted on 6/28/2024 and no lead exceedance.
At approximately 2:28 p.m. LPA Rivera entered the outdoor play area. LPA Rivera observed the equipment to be in a safe condition, free of sharp, no lose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. LPA Rivera observed play structure equipment to be age appropriate for ages 2-5 years and areas around or under high climbing equipment, are cushioned with granulated rubber mat that may absorb a fall. For adequate shade, LPA Rivera observed 3 hip roof shade structures and 1 sail triangle. LPA observed the playground yard to be fenced and the side gates closed and locked with a keypad lock.
