On 2/22/2023 at 10:00 a.m. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Judy Laureano met with facility director Lizbeth Ruiz-Torres. The purpose of the visit was an announce case management – licensee initiated inspection at the facility to ensure that health, safety and personal rights as requires by Title 22 and Health and Safety Regulations governing California Child Care Centers will be met. There were 5 preschool children and 1 staff member present during this inspection.

Facility is requesting to decrease current capacity of 84 preschool age children (2 years to 5 years old) to 72 preschool and adding a Toddler Option. Facility is requesting 12 toddler age children ages 18 months to 3 years old.

The child care center will operate Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m to 5:30 p.m. The fire clearance was approved for all 4 preschool classroom. Facility has a Infant License #197493300.

LPA toured the facility and director confirmed that facility has a total of 4 preschool classroom. Preschool program is currently only using one preschool classroom- Preschool 2. The following classroom are not currently being used Preschool 1 and Preschool and Preschool 3 and Twos or older two classroom.

Facility has designated Two's or Older twos classroom will be used for the Toddler Option. LPA toured and measured the on-limit area and classroom. Children will have access to 2 sinks and 2 toilets immediately in the bathroom area, 1 in the classroom and 1 additional sink outside.

Classroom measurements:
Toddler Room- Toddler Option Indoor total measurements 794.5936 square (sq) feet (ft) divided by 35 sq ft = 22 toddler option.

Outdoor Play measurements:
Outdoor total measurements: 1,393.601 sq ft divided by 75 sq ft = 18 toddler option.
Toddler outdoor area is located right next to the Toddler classroom- sliding doors gives access to the outdoor space.

All outdoor and indoor passageways, stairways, inclines, ramps, open porches and other areas of potential hazard were observed to be free of obstruction. The child care center was observed be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. Floor of the classroom has a surface that is safe and clean. A comfortable temperature for children was observed. The classroom was observed to be equipped with appropriate furniture and equipment, including, but not limited to, children’s size tables and chairs, assortment of age appropriate toys, mats and changing table. Tables and chairs were observed to be meet the needs of the children. Furniture was observed to be maintained in good repair and safe condition. The type, height and size of furniture and equipment was observed to be age appropriate.

Director confirmed the large sofa near the entrance of the classroom will be removed from the space. LPA is requesting a picture to be submitted once correction has been completed.

The following correction need to be completed by 3/3/2023
1. All electrical outlets need be covered by a safety covered.
2. Soap needs to be added to all soap dispensers near the sink areas.

Application request will be reviewed with Licensing Program Manager for final decision.

Exit interview was conducted with Facility director and a copy of the report and Notice of Site visit was provided.
