Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Shandra Powell conducted an unannounced Annual Random inspection. LPA met with Latrisha Reggans, Director. LPA spoke to Ms. Brown, Director of the Infant Center by telephone at arrival. Ms. Reggans, Director guided analyst on tour of the facility. This is an infant program which consists of 3 rooms. LPA observed one large room were 2 staff with 6 infants. Toddler room with 1 staff with 3 toddlers. There also a preschool component at this location #197493316. Facility operation hours are Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 6 :00 PM.

Breakfast, lunch and snack menu was available and posted during inspection. Per Director Breakfast, lunch and snack are prepared on site. LPA observed open packages of food in freezer. Director discarded all open food items during inspection. Infant formula is available LPA observed labeled bottles in refrigerator for infants. Infant Needs and Service plans were not available for review. Kitchen counter tops were clean and free of clutter or standing food. Cleaning compounds are inaccessible to children. Sign in and out sheets were reviewed, LPA observed all but on child present not sign in. LPA observed one crib, 6 crib mattresses and one cot for napping equipment in the infant program. LPA observed 4 swings in napping room. Sheets are sent home on Fridays and returned on Mondays. Appropriate sinks and toilets were observed.



Outdoor playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. There is adequate shade in the play yard.

Teacher child ratios were observed to be in compliance and staff names were recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of infants are met and are appropriate. Children’s Records were reviewed for completeness including but not limited to Criminal Records Clearance for adults, qualifications and verification of CPR/First Aid and health preventative practices. Director was advised that a thorough review of all personnel staff must be conducted to ensure all documents are on record upon licensing request.

Director was made aware of The Child Care Advocate Program (CCAP) that is administered from within the Community Care Licensing Division. CCAP participates in many community activities and special projects in order to disseminate information on the State’s licensing role, provide information to the public and parents on child care licensing, and provide many other helpful resources to the licensees and the public. Mandated Reporter: Beginning on January 1, 2018, AB 1207, requires all licensed providers, applicants, directors and employees to complete training as specified on their mandated reporter duties and to renew their training every two years.
