The outdoor play area is fully enclosed by a tall gate. Outdoor equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. This area is safe and offers shade and plenty of children's toys and play equipment. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls.
The facility has 2 functioning fire extinguishers, 1 smoke detector, and 1 carbon monoxide detector that meet statutory requirements. Facility was observed to be operating within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license. All staff is trained in CPR and Pediatric 1st Aid (expires on 12/2022). The name of the child care center director or fully-qualified teacher(s) designated to act in the director’s absence has been reported to the Department. LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete. LPA reviewed all staff files and observed files were complete.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Upon notification from the Department, the licensee will comply and act immediately to terminate the employment of, remove from the facility or bar from entering the facility for any person it is deemed necessary while the Department considers granting or denying an exemption.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) are not currently being provided. Licensee is aware that an IMS plan is required to be submitted to the licensing office if they provide any of these services. This report shall be made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit is provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
