25 | On October 30, 2024, @ 8:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Devon Carus, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and was met by licensee, Marla Dodd. Currently, the above daycare has 12 children enrolled. LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. At the time of the visit, there were 7 children present. Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen is off limits and made inaccessible by use of doors, and safety gates. This one-story home was inspected as follows: living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, den area, and back yard. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area under the sink. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. There is a working fire extinguisher (2A-10BC), smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. LPA confirmed the available cell phone number is 3104806652. The indoor play area is in the den area, and back yard area. The children reside here while in care. There are child gates, and locked doors keeping the children in the day care area. There are also cots, and play yards/ cribs for sleeping in the day care area. The outdoor play area in the back yard has a wall, child gates, and full sized gate around it, and there are no hazards to children present. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on 8/3/2026. A review of records indicates that all employees and/or volunteers have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis, measles, and Tuberculosis.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home.
