25 | On 2/27/2020, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Helen Estrella conducted an unannounced 1-year required inspection. LPA met with Assistant Director M. Sanello and informed the nature of the visit. LPA confirmed with the Director that all adults obtained a criminal record clearance and/or exemption. LPA was guided on a tour of the facility (inside and outside).
The preschool center program operates Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm, ages 2 to 6 years old. The preschool is composed of two separate building and one main outdoor area. There are (6) classrooms and a bonus room for gym activities. There was a total of 70 children being supervised by 12 staff and the Assistant Director.
LPA inspected the following areas identified on the facility sketch. The following was observed in each classroom: Fully equipped 2A10BC fire extinguishers; first aid kit and emergency supply backpacks; smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, sign in/out sheet, parent board and drinking water. Furniture and equipment appears in good repair and is age appropriate. Heating, lighting and ventilation is adequate. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children, shall be inaccessible to children. Napping equipment and bedding was observed in good condition, appropriate storage and cleanliness. Napping children are properly supervised within ratios. LPA reviewed CPR Pediatric First Aid for staff valid through 03/28/2021. Director states facility provides AM/PM snack and parents provide lunch, or opt for the facility to provide a hot lunch option. The facility provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS). All staff trained to administer the Epi-pen. Medication is administered in the Director office.
LPA observed outdoor play space. Climbing equipment, slides and other play equipment appears age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate shading and drinking water available outside. Playground appeared free of miscellaneous debris. There are no bodies of water present at the facility.
