Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Randy Derraco conducted an unannounced annual inspection on 06/14/22 at 09:15 AM. LPA met with teacher, Lindsey Escobar, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. LPA observed at 10:25 AM, teacher aide S2 arrived at the facility. This is a School-Age program which consists of two classrooms Facility operation hours are Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:000 PM.

All areas identified on this report were inspected. Upon arrival, the following staff were present during this inspection: School-Age room: S2 and S3 with no children in care. Teacher states that since it is summer, school age children arrive after school. Teacher-child ratios were observed to be in accordance with Title 22 Regulations. All children were observed to be under visual supervision of a teacher at all times.

The following was observed during the tour of the facility:

Children's roster was reviewed and is current. Sign in and out sheets were reviewed to ensure that the person who signs the child in and out uses their full legal signature and records the time of the day. Children present were signed in. Disaster drill log was available, last drill was conducted on 11/09/21. LPA observed required licensing documents posted on parent board

Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. LPA observed material and equipment are free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Children have their own cubby to store their belongings. Linens are washed by the facility weekly via laundry service. Napping equipment (cots) were observed in separate storage areas. Per teacher, the isolation area is located next to the parent board. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair in all restrooms. Bathrooms were observed to be gender specific and they provide (page 1 of 3)

individual privacy for children. General sanitation was observed.

Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. According to the Director, medication is only administered to a child when accompanied with a doctor's note. Medication is stored in the child's classroom in a cabinet where it is inaccessible to children in care. Director states that there are no poisons stored at the facility and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock.

Menus were reviewed to ensure that they are being posted at least one week in advance and visible to an authorized representative. The facility provides AM snack, lunch and PM snack. LPA observed that water is readily available via water pitchers and disposable cups.

All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish, rodents, and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. All foods/beverages are stored in covered containers in the cabinets or in the refrigerator.

LPA observed that outdoor space is physically separate from all other components. Outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition as is free of hazards. Areas around and/or under climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb a fall. The outdoor area had adequate shade. Teacher states that water is readily available outdoors via a water pitcher and disposable cups. Teacher states that there are no bodies of water on the premises and LPA did not observe any bodies of water during this visit. Teacher states there are no weapons or firearms on the premises.

All individuals present have obtained a criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption. There is at least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid present during this inspection.

Staff’s Records were reviewed and are complete.

Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. LPA advised the Director to access forms, regulations and quarterly updates on the Child Care Licensing website at: www.ccld.ca.gov.

At this time, the facility is in compliance with California Title 22 Regulations. Therefore, there are no citations being issued today.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
