25 | On 06/28/2023 at 12:25 PM an unannounced Required – 1 Year Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Katrina Chicote. LPA announced purpose of visit and initially met with Sandy McGlothan, Assistant Director, who granted entry to facility. The program operates an after school program but currently running a Summer Program Monday thru Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. LPA was taken on a guided tour of the facility of both indoors and outdoors. Facility has licensed Infant Program (#197493730) and Preschool Program (#197493731) on property. LPA observed each program to have separate entrances. Facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 22, Facility Representative states that there are currently 14 children enrolled. LPA observed required postings at time of inspection.
At the initial start of the site visit, there is a total census of ten children and a total census of two teachers present. The facility is made up of two classrooms (RM 1 and RM 2). Beginning at 12:30 PM, furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair in each classroom. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. LPA observed A/C wall units operating in each classroom and wall heaters that are up high and barricaded at time of inspection. There were cubbies observed as storage for children's belongings. LPA observed child size tables and chairs, shelves with board games, and other age appropriate toys free of loose and sharp parts available for children in each classroom and a TV hanging in RM 2. LPA observed children watching a movie in RM 2 at time of inspection and LPA observed five children transitioning to nap time in RM 1 upon inspection using child appropriate cots that were laid out without hindering exits and entrances at time of inspection. Per FR, linens are provided by the facility and washed weekly by staff. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. LPA observed water jugs with paper cups available in each classroom. LPA observed bathrooms available in RM 1 and RM 2; RM 1 Bathroom had two separate stalls with one toilet each and one sink, and RM 2 Bathroom to have one toilet and one sink, totaling three toilets and two sinks for program, which were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, area safety and sanitation.
