25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Keyona Scott, conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection to ensure the health and safety of the Child Care Home according to Department Regulations and Health and Safety Codes. LPA met with Licensee, Shahina Nasir, on 03/12/2020. Licensee, Licensee's Assistant (Adult 1), Licensee's husband (Adult 2), Licensee's father (Adult 3) and five children, which includes three infants, were present during the inspection. Third infant arrived at approximately 2:24 PM while LPA was conducting inspection. All Adults present, residing and working in the home are fingerprint cleared and associated to the facility. LPA was guided on a tour inside and outside of the home at 2:05 PM. Licensee left at approximately 2:45 PM for an appointment. Children remained in care with Licensee's Assistant (Adult 1).
The home is a one story, three bedroom, two bathroom home with a detached garage with a den area, living room, and kitchen. The off-limit areas of the home are Licensee's father's bedroom, located through the hallway to the left, the bathroom, located in the bedroom at the rear of the home and the kitchen, located at the entrance of the home. The bedroom and bathroom are made inaccessible to children in care by closed doors during operation hours. The kitchen is made inaccessible to children in care by way of safety gate at the kitchen entrance. The bedroom through the hallway to the right is used on occasion as a sleeping room when overnight children are in care. The bedroom located to the rear of the hallway is used as a napping room. The primary child care area is in the living room, located at the entrance of the home. LPA observed a crib, two play yards, a changing table, couch, children's sofa and chairs, and highchairs in the living room area. The children utilize the bathroom through the hallway, adjacent to the living room.
The home was inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. Home utilizes wall heater as a heating source and portable fans as a cooling source. Home has a working telephone. Hazardous materials in the kitchen and bathroom are inaccessible to children. According to the Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms at the home; None were observed by LPA. Per Licensee, there are no pets in the home; None were observed by LPA. Page 1
