25 | On 06/26/19, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karren Starks made an announced visit for the purpose of conducted a pre-licensing inspection. LPA met with the Owner/Director, Ruhi Khan and several staff members. The fire inspector has approved the capacity of 107 children as requested.
The LPA was guided on a tour of the facility inside and outside. The areas designated for care as identified on the sketch were inspected and measured.
The initial room adjacent to the front desk area will be used for care with a bathroom with 1 toilet, 1 sink attached. There is a larger area just through the walkway this area is to be used for care. LPA observed age appropriate furniture and manipulative toys as well as area rugs for activities and cubbies for the children's belongings. There is a gated area to the right of this area that has a chalk wall. There is a restroom with 3 toilets, 1 urinal, 2 interior sinks and 1 exterior sink adjacent to this large room area. Beyond the gated area is a carpeted room that will be used for play. Through the carpeted room is another play area that will be used for floor play. The staff restroom is adjacent to this area.
Just beyond the kitchen there is another large open area that will be used for child care. LPA observed age appropriate furniture and toys in this area, area rugs will be used for floor time. There is a bathroom with 3 toilets, 3 sinks and 1 exterior sink with a water faucet. Cubbies for the children's belongings were observed in this area. First Aid/Emergency kits were observed in the large areas as well. Napping mats were observed. Operable smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors were observed and tested during inspection.
Isolation for ill children will be at the front desk area. LPA observed the required postings at the entrance to the facility which included information regarding the menu. Per the owner, the children will bring in their own lunch with the facility providing snacks. The kitchen was inspected with a properly functioning refrigerator/freezer. A sufficient supply of snacks was also observed. In the event a child had forgotten their lunch the facility will contact the parent to obtain a lunch or the facility has a sufficient supply of items in stock to meet the child's needs. The kitchen does have properly working hot water. . |
