25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), V. Wheatley conducted a case management inspection and met with the Head Start Site Lead, Sanji Peiries at 10:45am who informed LPA that the incidents occurred on the Early Head Start Program ages 18 to 36 months. LPA met with Early Head Start Manager, Florence Olarewaju and toured the premises. LPA observed the staff supervising within proper ratios in both programs. LPA met with Early Head Start Site Director Karin Berry regarding the incidents.
LPA investigated two incidents involving the toddlers enrolled. On September 23, 2019 a parent contacted the staff regarding Child #1 that was diagnosed with Impetigo. The parent later called the staff again to inform that the child's diagnosis was changed to Hand, Foot, Mouth Disease. The child was kept home until released by the physician with a note. On September 25, 2019 a parent contacted the staff stating their child was diagnosed with Impetigo. The child was kept home until released by the physician with a note.
According to the EHS Site Director, the staff sanitized the toys, equipment, counters, restrooms, floors, cots and laundered the linen. Also, the custodian sanitized the outside play area. An exposure notice went home to the parents. In addition, a Public Health Nurse conducted an inspection.
Based on information obtained, interviews conducted and records reviewed there are no violations cited.
