25 | On 4/21/2021 at 11:45 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Deborah Lowe participated in a visit conducted by the Public Health Department at facility. Helen Obih, RN, BSN, PHN, MPA Public Health Nurse with Los Angeles County met with Facility Director Sarah Yasharpour in person at facility. LPA Lowe and Dr. Margalit Kochav participated via Microsoft TEAMS. The purpose of the Case Management inspection was to observe and follow up on a recent outbreak - COVID-19 that was reported to Regional Office on 4/20/2021 by the public health department which 3 staff and 2 children tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
Rooms effected by outbreak were rooms 101, 102, and room 103. Facility chose to close whole facility on 4/19/2021 and no children were present during visit. Health Department advised facility they can open the unaffected classrooms.
Director lead a tour of the first floor (classrooms 101, 102, 103, and the children's bathroom), second floor outside area, and the fourth floor teacher areas. In each room the health department provided feedback with recommendations.
Recommendations;
* All children age 2 and over must wear face covering (director stated the children ages 2 years- 3 years-old have not been wearing mask).
* Room 102 and 103 add additional tables to assist in social distancing - 2 children per table
* Have a clean bin and dirty bin to sanitation of toys
* Bathroom - put sign on door capacity of 1 adult 1 child per Heath Department.
* Cleaning chemicals need to be inaccessible to children in a locked cabinet (1 Lysol bottle on paper towel dispenser, 1 Lysol spray bottle and 1 sanitizer cleaning bottle on counter of hand washing sink in children's bathroom).
