An informal Office Meeting was scheduled in the El Segundo Child Care Regional Office via TEAMS on 09/29/2021. The meeting attendees are as follows:

Peter Flores, Licensing Program Manager
Claudia Escobedo, Licensing Program Manager
Lisa Rios, Licensing Program Analyst
Kenner Rakov, Director
Melanie Wolf, Co-Founder & Co-CEO

The purpose of this scheduled office meeting is to address departmental concerns regarding the facilities ability to remain in substantial compliance based on Type A deficiencies cited at the facility within the past 6 months and facilities pending application for increase of capacity.

The El Segundo Child Care Regional Office wishes to provide additional support to the facility through recommended resources, referrals and increased monitoring for one year as follows:

The Director, Owner, agree to attend Record Keeping Orientation and submit proof of completion certificate 30 days from this office meeting.

The Regional Office (RO) shall refer the facility to the Technical Support Unit (TSP) which is used to assist the licensee in developing substantial compliance.

The Department has approved the increase of capacity for facilities Brella Playa Vista Infant 197494347 & Brella Playa Vista Preschool 197494348 with an outdoor space waiver, therefore the extension of the Pop-up COVID-19 Waiver is no longer needed.

An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of this report was provided to the Director and Owners today 9/29/2021.
