32 | According to Staff 1 (S1), Staff 2 (S2), Staff 3 (S3), Staff 4 (S4) and Staff 5 (S5), children are never yelled at they are redirected. If they are outdoors, there is a louder voice that is used or a song is sang for children to hear and so staff can intervene in a timely manner. According to staff, the reading corner assists with letting children cool off.
According to Parent 1 (P1), Parent 2 (P2), Parent 3 (P3), Parent 4 (P4) and Parent 5 (P5), they have never observed staff yell at children. Parents did state that there is sometimes a stern tone from S5 or when staff need to get children’s attention. Parents did proceed to state that they are not concerned with staff yelling at children.
According to Child 1(C1), Child 2(C2) and Child 3 (C3), teachers do not yell at them in a mean way.
-Pertaining to the allegation that – Lack of supervision resulting in day care child being injured by other day care children.
According to the RP, there are fights and falling but nothing that bad just boys stuff like roweling each other up.
According to Staff 1 (S1), Staff 2 (S2), Staff 3 (S3), Staff 4 (S4) and Staff 5 (S5), children are always supervised. When children try to play in a rough manner, each situation is addressed appropriately. According to staff, there are a lot of boys in the classroom and they do try to play transformers or spiderman; however, children are redirected and spoken to when this occurs.
According to Parent 1 (P1), Parent 2 (P2), Parent 3 (P3), Parent 4 (P4) and Parent 5 (P5), their children have only obtained minor injuries that are the norm for their children. Parents have no concerns regarding staff supervision and feel as though their children are well supervised.
-Pertaining to the allegation that –Classroom operating out of ratio.
According to the RP, there is a teacher and an aide, and I don’t know if the aide counts.
According to Staff 1 (S1), Staff 2 (S2), Staff 3 (S3), Staff 4 (S4) and Staff 5 (S5), ratio is always maintained and staff are never left alone with more than the appropriate amount of children. |
