25 | On July 29, 2021 at 12:25PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brigitte Tsutaoka conducted an unannounced Annual/1 Year Required inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry by Licensee's Assistant. Licensee April Byrne joined LPA for inspection shortly after entry and guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Upon entry, LPA observed 5 children in care.
This is a single-story family home. There is a living room, kitchen, dining room, linen closet, laundry room, garage, 3 bedrooms and two restrooms. Main care is provided in the living room. The children use the bathroom located in the hall to the left of the living room. The off-limits areas are all the three bedrooms, master bathroom, and garage.
The day care home provides breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner as needed. According to Licensee the operating childcare hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. The knives are in a kitchen drawer made inaccessible by child safety lock. Medications are kept in the kitchen on a top cabinet inaccessible to children. All cleaning supplies and detergents are locked under kitchen sink inaccessible to children.
There are age appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. Per the licensee there are no weapons/firearms on the premises. LPA did not observe any during inspection. |
