25 | On May 25, 2021 at 9:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brigitte Tsutaoka was greeted virtually by Licensee Varline Fullilove, to conduct a case management licensee initiated inspection to increase capacity from a Small Family Child Care Home(FCCH) to a large FCCH. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was virtually guided on a tour of the FCCH by licensee. Upon entry LPA, observed 3 children in care.
The operating hours are Sunday through Saturday, 5:00 AM-12:00 AM.
This is a single story home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, den, great room, flex space, laundry room, and garage. There is a spa or body of water on the premises that is secured with a locked cover. Licensee stood on cover to verify it sustains weight of adult. Per Licensee, the following areas are utilized for Family Child Care: great room, flex space, kitchen, and den. The home is gated from the front yard to the backyard. The off-limits areas include: Master bedroom, bedrooms 2 and 3, master bathroom, laundry room, and the garage. There is no fireplace on the premises. The cleaning solutions (in off-limits laundry room) and medications (in off-limits master bedroom) are inaccessible. The knives are kept in a top kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children in care. Per the licensee there are weapons or firearms on the premises. LPA observed weapons stored per Title 22 regulations.
The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition. The licensee was reminded that fire and disaster drills are to be conducted at least once every six months and logged. The home has the required fire extinguisher (2A10BC) that meets State Fire Marshal standards (reading in green).
