25 | On March 18, 2021 Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Mariela Ramon and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Monique Ayala conducted a Case Management inspection for the purpose of inspecting the bedroom that has a door with direct access to the swimming pool.
Upon arrival LPM and LPA were greeted by licensee and observed 7 preschool age children, 2 infants and 1 school age child. LIcensee's assistant was also present.
During the Pre-Licensing inspection conducted on 03/09/2020, LPM and LPA inspected a second bedroom located on the first floor and observed a door that gives direct access to the backyard area where the swimming pool and spa are located. Licensee stated the door that gives access to the backyard is always locked and the bedroom door located in the hallway will remain lock at all times when children are in care.
The swimming pool is enclosed by four property walls. One of the walls has a door that gives direct access to the bodies of water. On the same property wall there is a 5 foot fence that has a gate that was tested and observed to to be self-closing/self-latching and it opens away from the bodies of water. The fence separates the backyard area where children play making the pool and spa inaccessible to children.
After further review, the Regional Office determined that licensee's intent to make the bedroom with the door leading to the swimming pool did not ensure the health and safety of day care children.
LPM and LPA toured the facility. Licensee guided LPM and LPA to the bedroom that has a door that gives direct access to the swimming pool. |
