25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Isabel Ortega conducted an unannounced annual random inspection. The LPA met with licensee who guided the LPA on a tour of the facility. Upon entry to the facility the LPA observed a total of 6 children in care.
This is a single-story family home with an attached garage. There is a children's playroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, three bedrooms and two restrooms. Main care is provided in the children's playroom referred to as the child care area. The children utilize the bathroom located near the kitchen. The off-limits areas are the three bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, and the shed in the backyard.
The day care home provides breakfast, am snack, lunch, pm snack, and dinner as needed. According to Licensee she is currently participating in a Food Nutrition program. The operating child care hours are Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 7:00pm.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. The knives are kept in the kitchen on top of the refrigerator in a closed container. All cleaning chemicals are stored underneath the sink and maintained locked with a child safety latch. Medication is stored in the kitchen on the top cabinet inaccessible to children.
There are age appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. Per the licensee there are no weapons or firearms of any kind in the facility. The LPA did not observe any weapons.
The First Aid kit was observed and complete. The required fire extinguisher (2A10BC) meets the Fire Marshals standards. The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition (tested 3:50 P.M.). Fire and disaster drills are conducted every six months and logged last emergency drill was conducted by today License 4/5/2021 at 10:00am. |
