25 | On 8/06/2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Isabel Ortega was greeted by Licensee, Jimena Rosales. LPA was at the facility to conduct an unannounced case management licensee initiated inspection for the purpose of an increase of capacity from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home(FCCH) up to 14 children. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry by the licensee, who guided LPA on a tour of the Family Child Care Home. Upon entry LPA observed 5 children in care.
Licensee was initially licensed on 7/13/2020 as a Small Family Child Care Home. The Fire Department has inspected the facility and a fire clearance for 14 children has been granted effective 8/05/2021. This is a single-story family home with an attached garage. There is a children's playroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, three bedrooms, two restrooms and a shed in the backyard. Main care is provided in the children's playroom referred to as the child day care area. The children utilize the bathroom located near the kitchen. The off-limits areas are the three bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, and the shed in the backyard.
The day care home provides breakfast, am snack, lunch, pm snack, and dinner as needed. According to Licensee she is currently participating in a Food Nutrition Program. The operating child care hours are Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 7:00pm.
The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. There are age appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. LPA did not observe a fireplace or any bodies of water at the above facility. Per the licensee there are no weapons or firearms of any kind in the facility at this time, nor did the LPA observe any weapons during the inspection. LPA observed cots for napping, and licensee stated she provides blankets for nap time although most of the children bring their own and take they home weekly. |
