25 | On 07/28/2021, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Justin Dorsey conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year inspection. Upon arrival, LPA met with director Tammy Lazendorf who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. LPA observed 9 children in care with 2 staff. All staff members are cleared and associated to the facility.
Furniture and equipment were inspected for operable conditions and age appropriateness. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Children have access to water through water dispensers and disposable water cups located inside the preschool classroom and nap room. Children also bring their own water bottles. Per Director children in the toddlers classroom use their personal water bottles to substitute no water dispenser being in the classroom. The facility uses the main office to isolate sick children.
Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected. Toilets flush properly; toilets and sinks are reachable by the children. LPA observed all toilets and sinks were found to be in operable condition, and met the Title 22 requirements. LPA observed staff restrooms which is located in the kitchen.
First Aid supplies, smoke detector, carbon monoxide and fire extinguishers were observed and in operable condition. Trash cans with tight lids were observed. The facility provides a morning snack and afternoon snack, Per Director children bring their own lunch from home.
The kitchen area is located between the toddlers classroom and the room in which the children eat. LPA observed is adequately equipped, clean, and free from hazards. LPA Dorsey observed there was no snack menu posted in the kitchen, during the visit LPA Dorsey observed the Director post the menu. Per Director the snack menu does not change, the parents are given the snack menu when their child is enrolled. While observing the kitchen LPA Dorsey found that there was no allergies list, LPA Dorsey observed the licensee post the allergies list during the visit. Children's medication is stored and locked in the main office.
