LPA met with Director Tammy Lanzendorf and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 05:30 PM. During the visit LPA Dorsey observed 9 preschool children in care with 3 staff. All staff members are cleared and associated to the facility. This preschool also has a toddler component, during the visit no toddlers were present. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other hazardous items are made inaccessible to children. During the visit LPA observed medication was stored correctly. LPA observed there was least one person was trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid is present at the facility. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Toilets and hand washing facilities are and sanitary condition. During the visit LPA Dorsey observed one of the children's toilets to be made inaccessible to children, Per Director someone will be fixing the toilet this weekend. LPA Dorsey observed the other two children toilets in the children's restroom to be in operable condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. The preschool and toddler playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition. Areas around high climbing equipment in the preschool playground, have cushioning material to absorb falls. While touring the preschool playground LPA Dorsey observed there was two wading pools with water in them. LPA Dorsey did not observe any children on the playground. Per Director the pools are filled before children use them so that the water in the pool can warm up. LPA Dorsey advised Director that there should be no standing water at the facility and that the water in the wading pools should be emptied after each use.

The kitchen area is located between the toddlers classroom and the room in which the children eat. While touring the kitchen LPA Dorsey observed their was adequate food for the children. LPA Dorsey also observed that there were menus and a allergies list posted in the kitchen. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed the facilities carbon monoxide detector, smoke detectors and fire extinguishers were in operable condition throughout the facility.

Facility representative was reminded, Prior to working or volunteering in a licensed childcare facility, all individuals subject to a criminal record review have received a criminal record clearance, transfer or exemption. Upon notification from the Department, the licensee will comply and act immediately to terminate the employment of, remove from the facility or bar from entering the facility for any person it is deemed necessary while the Department considers granting or denying an exemption. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained.

All children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. Facility maintains a ratio of one teacher supervising no more than 12 children in care. LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete Menus are posted at least one week in advance where an authorized representative can view them.

The facility has an (IMS) policy. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
