On April 17th, 2023 at 11:53 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrew Alemoh met with the Assistant Program Director, Sandra for the purpose of an unannounced Required 1-Year inspection of the school age center. Upon arrival LPA observed 31 school age children in care with 5 teachers. The center's hours of operation are: Monday thru Friday 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. This is a combination center which includes a infant component (197750057) and school age component (197493211).

There are 2 classrooms: (Gold Room for younger school age children, and Azul Room for older school age children) There is also and Art Room in the middle that is currently not being used. Gold Room is on the left, and Azul Room is on the right. Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts and good repair. All rooms were observed to be clean and safe. There is a working telephone on the premises. Heating, lighting, and ventilation are adequate. There are cubbies for children's belongings in each classroom. LPA observed age appropriate toys and materials. Drinking water is available inside the classrooms in the form of personal water bottles, and a water dispenser. Children also bring there own water bottles to the day care.

LPA observed in the Gold Room the cleaning solutions to be locked in the storage closet. (Key is high enough making it inaccessible to children).There are no cleaning solutions in the Art Room. Azul Room has the cleaning solutions in the top cabinet above the sink. Making it inaccessible to children.

LPA inspected and observed 6 clean bathrooms. The (Gold room) has 3 bathrooms with 1 toilet and 1 sink in each bathroom. The middle class room (Art Room not being utilized by the facility) has one bathroom with 1 sink. The (Azul Room) has 2 bathrooms and 1 sink in each bathroom. LPA observed 2 sinks in the Gold Room, 1 sink in the Art Room, and 2 sinks in the Azul Room around the classrooms. Per assistant program director the sinks in the classrooms are utilized for clean up time. LPA observed soap, toilet paper and paper towels readily available.

Children are inspected for illnesses as they arrive. The facility only administers medication with parent's written permission. The director or head teacher administers the medication and documents the dosage, date and time onto a log. Medication is properly labeled and stored in its original container in the directors office. There is a separate area for isolation and care of ill children in the directors office.

CPR/First Aid expired. Mandated reporter expires 02/25 . Last Fire Drill conducted was on February 6th 2023. LPA observed all classrooms to have an 2A10BC fire extinguisher to be in operable condition. There is no smoking or firearms on the premises. LPA observed the First Aid kit in the each classroom.

Kitchen: The kitchen is off-limits. LPA observed the kitchen to be clean and orderly. Per director food is not prepared in the off-limits kitchen area. Dry snacks are stored in the kitchen for the children. LPA observed clean compounds and solutions to be separated from the food and stored properly.

Backyard: LPA observed the school age backyard. There are areas that are divided by a green iron fence. LPA observed a storage shed in the play yard to contain cots, extra toys and storage. Per assistant program director the shed is locked. LPA observed the play structures to be firm and steady, as well as safe and age appropriate toys for the children. LPA observed a small water leak in the backyard. Per assistant program director the gardeners are currently working on fixing the leak in the backyard. LPA observed the the facility to make the leak inaccessible to children by barricading it with storage crates. Per director the leak will be fixed by end of this week.
