32 | Classrooms were equipped with age appropriate furniture, equipment, toys and materials. The classrooms were observed to be clean and safe and free of any hazards. Telephone service was verified as well as adequate heating, lighting, and ventilation. Children's belongings will kept in cubbies along the wall as you enter classrooms. Drinking water is available inside the classroom in the form of a water cooler and disposable cups. There are trash cans with lids present in both classrooms. Cots, linens and bedding will be stored individually so that each child's bedding is identifiable. Each cot will be equipped with a sheet to cover the cot, bedding and linens will be laundered weekly and as needed. Extra bedding will be kept on site. Flooring was inspected for cleanliness, and good repair. Changing table is available in Room A next to an adult sink.
The children's bathrooms are located within the Classroom B; bathroom contains 3 toilets and 3 sinks. Another child toilet and sink is located in the Room A along with an adult sink. The staff bathroom is located before entering Classroom B. LPA observed the bathrooms to be clean and sanitary, with soap, toilet paper and paper towels readily available. Toilets and sinks are functioning properly and age appropriate.
The Site Director's Office will be used as an isolation room and the staff bathroom will be used as an isolation bathroom.
Outdoor play equipment was inspected for health, safety, good repair and age appropriateness. Center utilizes wood chips for cushioning material and there is shade structure present. There is a wood play house and two areas with sand. The sand is surrounded by grass. There is one table bench and fictitious wood logs for sitting. There is water mist available for hot days. LPA's observed wood fencing surrounding the outdoor play area, the gate was locked during this inspection. The cemented area will be utilized for tricycles. Staff will bring drinking water outside for children (igloo and disposable cups). LPA's observed a mock river stream which did not contain any water. LPA's informed Director that no standing water is to be permitted. Director stated that she has installed a draining system to ensure there is no standing water. The outdoor space was measured to be enough space for 45 children. LPA's informed Director that a waiver will be issued in order to allowed staggered playtime and ensure all 48 children will be able to play outside.
