On 12/05/2023 at 1:00 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Crystal Green conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection to remove the toddler program from the preschool license. Upon arrival, LPA met with Director, Nowart Dow. The licensee, Glendale Presbyterian church has requested to remove the toddler option program and increase the preschool program capacity. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm.

Present during today’s inspection were 28 children with 10 staff. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Mrs. Dow that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. LPA continued to tour the facility and also obtain measurements of the licensed areas of the indoor and outdoor activity space. This preschool program with toddler option consists of 3 classrooms. Lady Bug and Bumblebee are the designated preschool classrooms. The Butterfly classroom is designated as the toddler option classroom. The licensee has requested to remove the Butterfly classroom from the preschool license. The licensee also has a pending application request to obtain an Infant license. The licensee plans to redesignate the Butterfly classroom under the proposed Infant license.
The preschool program will keep the Lady Bug and Bumblebee classrooms. Total indoor activity space after removing the Butterfly classroom measured 2,633.39 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 75 Children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via water dispenser attached to the sinks. LPA observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property.

LPA observed a total of 5 sinks and 5 toilets available for children’s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 75 children.
