25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Judy Mora conducted an unannounced Annual/random inspection. LPA met with licensee, Arturo Aguilar. The Licensee's daughter, Darinka Aguilar was also present. Ms. Aguilar guided analyst on a tour of the facility. There were 9 children present. Licensee states that there are currently 10 children enrolled, children's roster was reviewed and is current. Disaster drill log was available, last drill documented was 07/2019.
This is a one story home which consists of 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, day care room, kitchen, dining room, living room, front yard (fenced). The children use the day care room, the bathroom in the day care room, living room, dining room, kitchen and 4 bedrooms. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 2 bedrooms, licensee's bathroom. The LPA toured all areas used by children during this visit.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating (central air & heating) for safety and comfort. There is a working telephone service maintained in the home. Family members residing in the home are 5 adults (criminal record clearances on file) and 1 child. There is a small dog kept in doors. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible in all areas of the home. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home. The licensee does understand that poison must be locked with a key or combination lock.
Per licensee, there are no weapons, firearms or bodies of water on the premises. There were safe toys, play equipment and materials observed for children. Emergency Disaster Plan was observed to be outdated. LPA provided a copy of the LIC 610 to update facility profile. Children’s records were reviewed to ensure that each child has an Identification and Emergency form. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged (serviced 07/29/19).
